Mary Jane Detroyer is a Registered Dietitian, Exercise Physiologist and Personal Trainer who has worked in the health and fitness profession for over 20 years. She started her career in the fitness industry teaching aerobics in 1986.
Her desire to provide her clients with accurate nutrition, diet and weight loss information as well as appropriate exercise programming led to her decision to get degrees in both nutrition and exercise. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors degree in Movement Science from Hunter college in New York City and magna cum laude with a Masters Degree in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology from Columbia University. Mary Jane is certified as a Personal Trainer by the American Council on Exercise and has conducted fitness classes and one-on-one training in corporations and fitness centers throughout Connecticut and Equinox in New York City. She has a private practice in New York City, Mary Jane Detroyer & Associates. She also works with long distance clients using Skype and has had clients across the United States and in Paris, Japan and Ecuador. She specializes in nutrition and exercise for Women’s Wellness throughout their lifecycle, Diabetes, Heart Disease, Osteoporosis, Weight Management, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Sports Nutrition and Eating Disorders.
We view everything from the car we drive, our careers and jobs, even living in NYC compared to LA, as choices we can make. However, many people don’t think that health, wellness, fitness, and living a better life are things we choose. In today’s fast-paced world, a New York City lifestyle goes warp-speed. We put our health on hold because who has the time or energy for it?
